MIA dullard McCluck mailed in this
insightful review of the new Diana Krall record. Nothing to argue with here. When Krall sings Tom Wait's "Temptaion," she sounds like she's about to give in to the urge for a tasty fruit-swirled yogurt treat. When Tom Waits sings it, he's being torn apart over that final bottle of whiskey or suicide blonde, the one that will finally do him in. But what the hell -- it's at least a bit more adventurous for Krall than another album of standards, and the playing is top-notch, if restrained, and immaculately well-recorded.
